As the political world and financial facilities crumble, the metal scene has grown. Heavy metal topics vary from political issues to death, and Incite has produced their new brutal heavy metal colossus. With the expertise of Kevin “Dis” on guitars for recording sessions only and ‘Dru’ Tang Rome being their live act guitarist, this band sound is powerful as an atomic bomb. Their third song on the new album- Oppression-“Stagnant” is a showcase of heavy guitar licks and amazing guitar pick sweeps. Prior albums like The Slaughter       contained elements of power, resonating drums and brutal vocals, Oppression is the vital sign we all yearned in a “dying” genre of heavy metal! We caught Richie Cavalera and “El” during their recording session in Garden Grove, California at Omen Room Studios during fall of 2015 and this is what they had to add about their recording process with Steve Evetts and the new sound they yielded.

“El”- “Steve is very focused on everyone’s individual strength and pushed you be the best that you are. He made it better, he dug in there and made you do stuff that you didn’t think you could do but ended up doing it. He got the best of everyone’s performance.”

Richie Cavalera- “With Steve, we did preproduction- with the previous albums there was none of that. He came to Arizona for a week, dissected each song and making them stronger restructuring the songs in parts that made no sense that we got excited for. That in the music aspect they don’t work. We were able to do the recording like the big bands, all-playing together; you got a live vibe to your record. The sound of this record is going to be the best you’ve ever had. It sounds to me like it was recorded in analog instead of sounding like it’s the copy and paste digital stuff.” for the rest of the interview click here

The band’s sound growth can definitely be heard in this new tight heavy metal album- Oppression. Their old sound and elements from previous albums is precedent with addition of intriguing guitar solos, this band has taken over Europe, and will tour in North America. The introduction rages with words exclaiming “Heavy Fucking Metal” by Jose Mangin of Sirius Xm- Liquid Metal is fucking brutal. This adds intensity to the song “I Want It All” , where the power and elements of Exodus, Pantera and sounds of Lamb Of God are crucial, identifying guitar work similar to Slayer’s solos on this killer song. The deafening sounds of aggression in the track titled “Life’s Disease” adds an in your face sound featuring Connor Garrity of All Hail The Yeti. The complexity of this song is what brings Incite to the front of the metal world, they can slow down a song keeping it heavy, angry and all in all a heavy metal melody. Incite has toured with bands like Dillinger Escape Plan, Soulfly, and Crowbar. They are not new to the stage, and definitely not shy when it comes to speaking about politics. Their extended European tour at the beginning of the year allowed them to master their sound. This album is defining their sound and they will embark in a tour across North America making their album a great way to pave the way for their reckless future in the metal scene.
