With The Sound of Steel, EXMORTUS once again revisited the team that made Slave… and Ride Forth such successes, working with producer Zack Ohren (Machine Head, Fallujah, Suffocation) at Sharkbite Studio to capture their signature blood smeared thrash attack. EXMORTUS also tapped renowned artist Philip Lawvere (Kreator, Celtic Frost, Helloween), to create the striking cover art.

Early impressions of The Sound of Steel have quickly garnered noteworthy acclaim. Here’s just some of what’s being said about the album so far:

“Put simply, The Sound of Steel fucking rules.”  – Decibel Magazine

“…a tightly packed, galloping metal assault, layered atop rather gory imagery…” – LA Weekly

“…bursting with technicality, Exmortus once again have succeeded on making quality metal…” – Metal Wani

“Exmortus‘ The Sound of Steel is the only epic summer blockbuster you need.” – Metal Sucks

“Dripping in old-school thrash vibes but with a lovely, clean and modern production. The Sound of Steel will please both the old and new school crowds.” – Games, Brains, and a Headbanging Life
