Uncured New York City progressive metal band has unleashed their debut first length record titled Medusa, Rex Cox and Zak Cox founded this band in 2015. The record, Medusa is a barrage of pain that will incinerate you with each track. The brutal introduction titled “Opium Den” has impact from the beginning to the end. The band is comprised of talented young musicians, who have developed a goliath sound and will draw you in with songs like “Enucleate”, a force that will destroy you with extreme drumming and furious guitar playing. The Scandinavian elements are prominent in this album, from black metal riffs to heavy metal vocals the anger and intensity will not dwindle through the album.
LThis record has groovy riffs that will slam you to the wall like track “Myopic”, it punishes you as soon as it starts. The vocals are a fusion of hardcore screaming, with a ton of anger that will savage you relentlessly. This album is the definition of great musicianship, composition and talent combine in what is named Uncured.Liam, on drums brings the heat to the table with his hard banging double pedal and breakdowns every so often. If you are looking for a band to compare them to simply do not, but you can definitely hear their influences in their melodies, interludes and heavy groovy riffs, we leave it up to you to tell us who they sound like. All in all, this album will floor you, it is a magnificent composition blending black metal elements, deathcore, progressive and melodies.
