A record filled with languishing themes, and existentialism is composed of six cohesively written tracks, you will not miss a blast beat, and raving vocals.
The band, Der Weg Einer Freiheit, packed a sordid sound into this ominous record. The deliverance of each instrument starts with “Marter”, a track that conveys a sound which makes you rot away in a dark corner. The guitar rhythms are catastrophic, and the drums a relentless callous attack to the core. The exuberant vocals on the track “Xibalba” will debilitate your knees as sorrow pervades the depraved corners of your mind. In a world with deaths, and mental instability this album will connect with those who need a release, “Eos”, provides that exit. After the first half of the album you are dragged through a perilous void in to a cave of death which is what lies inside of many humans. The inner self, which is exposed by many as they heal, or search for answers of existence are conveyed sonically in this album, encompassing old school and modern black metal. The track “Fragment”, is a continuation of riveting sounds, aggression and heavy music. There is no doubt, this band search within themselves to write and share such a delicate subject, paired with grotesque sounds and furious vocals. It is an onslaught with meaning, with insight on the human psyche. The track “Finisterre III” is a solemn intermission before the grand finale- “Forlorn”. The track “Forlorn” soothes the listener, before plunging that knife deep and providing one last doze of adrenaline as you near your pitiful demise. This song is packed with a dark and tranquil sound, the band closes the album majestically.
