Death metal lords, Cannibal Corpse, have unleashed an obliterating new album via Metal Blade Records titled, Chaos Horrific. This album consists of ten life threatening situations all described in the goriest way Cannibal Corpse has mastered throughout decades of relentless savagery. Kicking off the record with the heavy track titled “Lords of Violence”, a great title indeed, a prominent bass line sets the mood for a violent attack to the ears. Alex Webster surpasses his work with this track and the remaining of the album. The guitar licks by both Erik Rutan and Rob Barret are melodic, and eerie announcing the attack described by George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher on vocals. The relentless drum work by Paul Mazurkiewicz simply astonishing.
The neck breaker track, “Frenzied Feeding” has a doomish sound, with a breakdown only Cannibal Corpse can deliver- no blast beats and slow impending death arrives as the melodic guitar solo completes this murderous track. With each riff track after track” Chaos Horrific” will perplexed the listener as they ravage through 39 minutes of disturbing songs and excellent musicianship. There is no doubt, Cannibal Corpse will continue to deliver intricate guitar riffs, like those in “Fractured and Refracture”, contortion and mind-bending track will floor the audience. The heavy chops and melodic licks come at you violently on the titled track “Pitchfork Impalement”, This album is the testament of Cannibal Corpse of their continuance death metal and gore dominance.
