
The Whittier, California neo-classical metal band, Exmortus, will release their titled album Necrophony, on August 25th 2023, via Nuclear Blast Records. The mind-bending work of Exmortus will come at you with this sensational release of Necrophony and demonstrate why they are the gods of neo-classical metal.
The album, Necrophony, is packed with a stellar 12 tracks that will melt your face off from beginning to end. The first track titled, “Masquerade” kicks in with menacing drum work, setting the mood for the rest of the album. If you are looking for guitar virtuoso like work, “Mask of Red Death” has all the finger licking riffs. A melody driven track with elements of thrash and gory vocals, plenty of hammering and amazing drum sequences will get you wound up. The released single, “Oathbreaker” is another fast tempo track with a killer introduction, which the audiences are raving about. The track “Oathbreaker” is a whirlwind of sound waves striking your life defying carcass, a maelstrom of darkness.
There is no compromise in Exmortus’ creativity, from the drum work by Adrian Aguilar to the bass lines by Philip Nunez, the album shreds and has melodies that build up and prepare you for neck breaking solos. Chase Becker continues to write great songs for Exmortus. The titled track, “Darkest of Knights” is another very well composed track, it mellows things down, but the dark melodies remain and drive this album to a whole different level. The album is a masterpiece, “Beyond the Grave” simply ravishes any listener who dares expose themselves to such a thrashy sound. From guitar solos, creative drum work, and bass this song will make the moshpits open portals to hell. Necrophony has a darker element compared to what Exmortus normally releases.
A heavier element in sound and ominous melodies are purveyed and depict how Exmortus is evolving their sound. Exmortus executed a phenomenal rendition to The relentless drum work and guitar riffs will make you bounce from one end of the stage to the other, following the ferocious drum work followed by intense guitar riffs, an astonishing musicianship. From dark lyrical content to necro guitar tunes, Exmortus has created a symphony of dark neo-classical requiems.
