The night of May 11th, was surrounded by darkness as the mighty evil forces of Dark Funeral, Cattle Decapitation and Black Braid with Metal Blade’s 200 Stab Wounds. The Decibel Magazine tour is a heavy hitter, each year they have phenomenal bands that have delivered intense music. This year, they gathered legendary black metal purveyors Dark Funeral, as the headlining act.

The observatory in Anaheim was slayed with powerful sounds from 200 stab wounds and Black Braid. These acts are emerging from the pits into the stage delivering a monstrous sound. 200 stab wounds delivered a brutal assault with intense riffs and hammering drum work. The fans were ready for this brutal display. The pit intensified as Black Braid delivered their unique sound, with melodies and majestic sounds. The stage and fans were elated by these two acts and ready for Cattle Decapitation.

The San Diego death metal purveyors, Cattle Decapitation just released their latest opus title Terrasite, and taking part of this amazing tour they delivered an explosive show. Despite the technical issues with Travis Ryan’s microphone the band played a killer set. They play with fury and the fans raved during their set. track from Terrasite were played, along with their previous record Death Atlas and others. Their energy and sound were synchronized and the fans felt the energy, they would sing along to every song and moshed relentlessly. Cattle Decapitation’s performance kept the energy going as the night nearly came to and end due to technical issues.

Hailing from Sweden, Dark Funeral brought satanic mantras and diabolical music to California. With their most recent release of We are the Apocalypse, Dark funeral also just finished their heavy European tour with Cannibal Corpse and Ingested. They did a quick stop at the Inferno Festival in Oslo, Norway. The set was arranged to deliver pure diabolical black metal, from tracks like Let the Devil In, to Goddess of Sodomy each song was played perfectly.
