Druids- Iowa Gives You Doom Metal

druids_2016Iowa can be a quiet place, but metal is being brewed there, bands like Slipknot have emerged from this State and now it has given you Druids. A Sludge/doom metal band inspired by bands like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Mastodon are releasing their third album titled Cycles of Mobeum. Their dark sound can be heard in the song titled, “Dreams of a Surface”. Their sound is similar to The Sword, and their melody will make your girl dance wild in the blazing desert after a few brews. The band was formed in 2008 releasing their Debut album Pray For Water in 2009, perhaps the nation wide drought inspired this riveting doom metal record. Luke Rauch definitely can shred on the axe and is obviously a Tony Iommi disciple, as many guitarists are. Keith Rich drums in style, bringing back that 70’s rock cannon blasts. Meanwhile on bass, Drew makes their sound deeper and sets the macabre tone. Cycles of Mobeum was recorded and mixed by Phil Young at Wabi Sound and mastered by Carl Staff. Check them out and get hooked on this doom metal sound that will have you smoking, drinking and headbanging just like Black Sabbath did in the 70’s. The album will be out on June 3rd, so go ahead and pre-order it below.
