What do you get when you blend doom metal with 1970’s electrifying sounds of rock? The simple answer is Castle, a creation of the Bay Area, San Francisco circa 2009. This trio is the portrayer of heavy sounds from albums like “In Witch Order” being their debut album via Germany’s Van Records in 2011. Their sound does not drag, and it goes straight to business with melodic doom riffs and aligned drum beats. Bassist/vocalist Elizabeth Blackwell will draw you in to the black cult sermons in the song “Flash Of The Pentagram”, a song filled with melodic guitar riffs by Mat Davis while the drums exhilarate the tempo by Al McCartney. They are not new in the metal world, as Metal Hammer Norway did honored this grave breaking band with “Album Of The Year” in 2011 and Roadburn Festival dub them “Newcomer Of The Year”. However, the names are just that; being earned with the sound they conveyed in their relentless touring schedule with multiple pit stops in the US, Europe and Canada. The Fans were heard, and Castle has recorded the new up coming release of “Welcome To The Grave” on July 15th, via Van Records worldwide. The album was recorder at Type Foundry Studios in Portland, Oregon last winter by no one other than Billy Anderson (Sleep, Neurosis, Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth and Eyehategod). They are hungry to play, and their tour will start this June 15th, in Phoenix, AZ through August 20th doom day in Los Angeles, CA. They will tour with support of Oregon stoner rockers Disenchanter, West Virginia dark occult unit Brimstone Coven (Metal Blade) and epic doomsters Blizaro from upstate New York. The new album is nothing but classic rock mixed with doom metal a dark blend indeed. Let their occult rock sway your soul, and open those gates to the pits in hell where together you can mosh with the underworld. Their tour list is available below, and you can stream their new song “Flash Of The Pentagram” via -EarsplitCompound.
Their new album is cromprised of 8 dark songs and here are the titles:
